Someone will “try it Tuesday” – Giveaway!!!
We are all trying to be a little healthy, right? Do you ever buy granola and eat around the things you don’t like? My husband hates raisins….unfortunately raisins are in just about every kind of granola that you can imagine. Do you ever think you must be eating something really low calorie because it has the name granola on the package, only to find out you would have been better off downing a Big Mac? MixMyGranola will custom make your very own granola mix. You choose what kind of granola base you would like, then choose from a huge assortment of dried fruits, nut, and other special items. The list of ingredient choices goes from the basic (raisins) to the exotic (chia seeds). The cool part is that all of the nutritional information is displayed while you create your mix. You can watch the calories go up as you add things in and have some control over the nutritional outcome of your granola. My granola arrived in this really cool cardboard tube – that means nothing was smushed during mailing. My tube was even signed by the mixer (Andrew). Here is the recipe that I created (I like to call it KatyChomps):
- Low-Fat Granola
- Organic Dried Apples
- Dried Blueberries
- Goji Berries
- Dried Blackberries
- Roasted Almonds
- Pistachios
- Organic Flax Seeds
- Chia Seeds
- Organic Coco Shreds
- and lots of love
My favorite ingredients were the Coco Shreds (they were big giant peices of coconut shreds), the organic dried apples, and the dried blackberries. Every ingredient in my mix was fresh and great tasting. It really was the best granola that I have ever had. Maybe it is because of the wonderful guys at MixMyGranola or maybe I just know exactly what to put in the perfect granola? Even if it is because of my mad granola pairing skills I think I will leave the mixing to the professionals. I wouldn’t even know where to buy goji berries or chia seeds. My container contained 8 servings…and when it was halfway gone I had to hide it from my family. I wanted it all!
Here is the deal. Visit the MixMyGranola website. Pick your base granola and at least 5 add ins that you would like to have in your mix. You can even be really creative and name your granola too! Post your recipe as comment on my blog. On Thursday at 5pm the contest will end and I will use a random number generator to pick one person to receive a gift certificate from MixMyGranola that will allow you to turn your recipe into a reality.
