This has to be the best squirrel feeder ever! When he pops his head into it to eat he won’t even realize how hilarious he looks! $15
It’s here! I feel proud, happy, sad, and even a little stressed out. I feel like I have worked so hard to get to this point in my life, but the real star of the show is Maddie. I couldn’t be prouder of her! She has worked so hard – great grades, a bajillion AP classes, Editor of the school newspaper, and captain of the rifle team. It lead her right where she wanted to be…acceptance to The University of Georgia!! They have an amazing Journalism program that I’m sure she will thrive in.
I didn’t want to send out the formal paper announcements from the school, so I turned to Shutterfly. They have never let me down before, and this time was no exception. I took the photos myself and sent them off to Shutterfly. I think they turned out amazing.
I will be back to my normal self (and my normal postings) after we get this week under our belt. Buckle up…it’s a big week!
I feel like the last few months have been a challenge for myself and my family. I never imagined that we would have so many stresses, decisions, and victories.
The biggest stress has been the college admissions process. Maddie has made me so proud – handling the entire process like a champ. She has made her decision and will be a University of Georgia bulldog in the Fall! I’m sooooo proud of her (and a little jealous – who wouldn’t want to live in Athens for 4 years?). She will double major in Journalism & International Studies with a minor in Women’s Studies.
Riley has been really pushing herself at school. As a freshman she is taking very challenging courses with a high goal of Valedictorian by her Senior year. If anyone can do it, she can. Also, after months of very hard work she made the Varsity Soccer Team! One of my favorite things to do is to watch her play soccer. Yes, I’m a soccer mom and proud of it!
On Saturday I ran my 4th Warrior Dash and loved every minute of it. The obstacles were challenging, the mud was thick, and the beer at the end was priceless! I’m proud that I can hang with the young crowd and climb over walls with the best of them. This is my favorite race of the year – I highly recommend it. It happens all over the country, just click here to find one near you. Here I am between my fellow warrior’s!
That is just a teeny glimpse of what we have been going through in the KatyShops world. I don’t want to bore you with all of struggles & strides. I just wanted to apologize for putting my blog on the bottom of the pile for the last few months. We are just 4 crazy busy people anxiously awaiting Summer. I’m counting the days….
… flip through Creative Cursing: A Mix’ n’ Match Profanity Guide. It just makes you feel better to look at all those silly cuss words. I mean, have you ever thought about calling someone an ass waffle? For $9 you can totally feel better about the names that you are calling people…or at least laugh a little.
I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine’s Day today! My present to you is a smile. These made me smile. Picture frames that you can play with! How fun would one of these be? I always wondered how I would look with a beard and mustache.
I thought this Match A Pair Of Shoes Memory Game looked like a lot of fun. Especially for shoe lovers! I was always pretty good at those matching games…($16)
I love these Porcelain Sugar Cones. They are so pretty and would be a really fun way to eat ice cream. They are so popular that there is a 3 week delay when you order them. $18 each
Forgive me while I step away from shopping for a day. I recently read an article on Facebook Etiquette and it really got me thinking. What bugs you about Facebook?
Facebook. I love it. What a great way to keep up with my family & friends! It makes my day to see some of my nephew’s awesome photography skills all the way across the ocean. It makes me feel closer to him. I like to keep up with friends from my past…I moved from the North to the South many years ago and it is so cool to keep in touch. I like to send my sister in Belgium an instant message -one of the few only no-cost communication that is available. I really do love it. It’s fun.
What I don’t love is seeing how many animals you have in Farmville or your high score on some crazy game. I really don’t care.
It seems that everyone has a Facebook Pet Peeve. Some people can’t stand vaguebooking. “Katy wonders whether it’s all been worth it.” – you know what I mean, right?
How about meaningless calls to action. “If you want to fight world hunger, put the color of your socks as your status update for the next half hour. I want to see who is brave enough to take a stand.” Ugh.
And lately, the slew of political post have been annoying me. A few, not bad…but some of my “friends” put way to many politically charged posts on their wall.
Anyways…what’s your Facebook beef? What crawls under your skin? Do you have any funny or annoying status updates to share with us? I would love to hear your thoughts…
Have you seen the new show on the Style Network called The Amandas? I love it! It follows a Birmingham team of organizers as they transform peoples clutter & lives. Amanda is totally OCD – which I love 🙂 They dress amazing and carry power tools while wearing heels. You wouldn’t believe the organizing skills that this group has. I’m so jealous. I want to be an Amanda.
I found this great little site called Daily Feats. You check off feats that you have done and get points for doing them. There are a ton of feats to chose from – flossing your teeth, working out, reading with your child, to walking your dog. If you did it, chances are it is there. Your points can then be redeemed for gift cards to major retailers, discounts coupons to restaurants and more. You can join up with other friends on the site and create a team – come find me – just look for Katyshops.
