I didn’t have much time to prepare a post for you yesterday…this is good news. It means that we are getting back to normal
Yesterday I took Maddie to the mall! I wanted to get her out and about now that she is feeling better. I do have a few things to report from the mall:
- We both used our Seventeen Magazine coupons to get the free tank top from Aeropostale. She used her actual magazine, I printed mine from the computer. The tank is very cute. click HERE to print the SEVENTEEN.com home page. Bring a printout of the SEVENTEEN.com home page to an AÉROPOSTALE store and receive a free tank top (the value is $19.50).
- I picked up a free pair of Undies from Victoria’s Secret. If you get on their mailing list you will receive coupons at least 4 times a year for a free pair. I’m not sure if you have to buy something to be on the list. If you do, it is worth it to buy something inexpensive just to be on their mailing list.
- Riley received two coupons in the mail from Build-a-bear and was able to use both of them. She created a really cute bear for $8.00. Again, get on their mailing list! You will receive coupons and $5 gift certificates. The $5 certificate that she used was actually mailed to Winnie (my dog)…Riley signed her up too. I think Winnie was a little disappointed that we didn’t use it to get her a new outfit - the clothes fit her perfectly. Riley’s bear was a special edition bear that donated part of the proceeds to Children’s health issues.
- We are getting an H&M at our mall!! I knew the chain was coming to the Atlanta area…but I figured the closest one to me would be downtown. Maddie & I were psyched! H&M is a chain that comes from the UK. They offer great prices on super hip clothing. I have shopped at H & M while visiting my sister in Belgium and loved it. They have Mens, Womens, and Childrens clothes. Madonna even has her own line at H&M.
- What do you do when you need your child’s foot measured and fitted for shoes but they don’t wear Stride Rite sizes anymore? This was the problem that I had with Riley. I couldn’t really figure out what size tennis shoe she needed and she complained about every shoe that I put on her foot. After spending a frustrating hour in Famous Footwear I took her to a store called Foot Solutions. They measured her, examined her stride, and fitted her with a great pair of Brooks running shoes. She was thrilled! She said that she has never had a shoe feel so comfortable. I have used Foot Solutions in the past and was really impressed. They take the time to fit you in the right shoe for you. I buy my Spira’s and my MBT’s and Spring Boost shoes from them. If you haven’t had your foot measured in a while I highly recommend it. The right fitting shoe can make such a difference. They also have a variety of accessories from custom orthotics to socks.
Overall, we had a great day! Have a super weekend

Love the blog - so glad Maddie is doing well! I knew Atlantic Station was getting a H&M, did not know about the mall store either. Which mall is it? Can’t wait for it!
I got my free Tee from Aeropostle, they insisted I needed a coupon. I printed out the rules for the giveaway and showed them I didn’t. I also took my Jane coupons and got some free makeup. Thank you for all the good freebies.
I’m curious as to what mall as well…..I know it’s not near me on the Southside but maybe near my parents on the Northside…..I got my free make up today as well!! I will say a prayer that the perfect job for Kristen comes at just the right time…….she is truly missed.
I did a little research and found out that H & M will be opening stores in the following places:
North Point Mall
Town Center Mall
Atlantic Station
Mall of Georgia
I can’t wait
Thank you for all of the great emails & comments about Kristen Gates. Keep your ears open for her!
Yeah for North Point!! Right near my parents….will have to check it out once it opens. I like their website (and prices!).
I work for a pedorthist and she’s given me a tip i would have never thought of. Take the insert out of the shoe and stand on the insert. There should be about 1/4 inch all the way around the foot to give your foot enough room to move as you move.
If the shoe doesn’t have a removeable insert, stand on top of the shoe. The same method as above applies. I’ve had to do this with my kids and even my hubby.
What a great tip Kareth! I will try that in the future.
